This installment of the Differenter series was hosted by DJ Teknikz of course. He has hosted all the Differenter tapes if i'm not mistaken and seems to be the official mixtape DJ of the Porter House Movement. Also assisting him is the self-proclaimed (of course any one who listens will see why and agree) Super-Sh*t talker and crowd favorite DJ PrettyBoy Tank and the producer/DJ MR. DJ Spinz who also provided some production on the project. Teknikz is like a coach and keeps the tape flowing well and makes u feel like you listening to some real official type ish, Tank is funny ass hell and is one of the few DJ's you don't mind talking because he'll have you laughin' in between songs, and spinz much like his name lets his wheels do most of the talking.
The artwork was once again courtesy of colurful Money. Let me just say that I like all of their work. They are very creative and have made some of the most amazing out-of-the-box covers over the last couple of years. Just thought I should make that known.
The production came from Spinz, Sonny Digital, and of course FKI put it down for the beat-making side of the differenter gang. They even got a nice banger from the infamous Drumma Boy.
The features were definatly a leap from what we are use to hearing on a mixtape. Yea ya got Wale, Meek Mill, and Jose Guapo, and another song with Big Sean. These artist you might expect to hear on a mixtape depending on the caliber of the artist. For a group like Travis its not unheard of. However how often do we hear southern artist do mixtape collaboration tracks with west cost MC's like Tyga and YG. Not to mention they pulled Kelly Rowland, Jerimiah, and Lloyd outta left field. Theses are more like album features!
This brings me to the overall sound of the mixtape. It sounds like a good album. That is sort of what we've come to expect from the trio. Much like the Differenters 1&2 as well as "Streets 'R' Us" #D3 has a nice blend of the bass heavy club bangers, TP' signature stripper songs, a lil something slow for the ladies, a lil something hard, or a money getting tune for the fellaz, a smokers anthem or two for the potheads and of course songs like "My City" make sure they show the "ATL" pride. And it wouldn't be Travis Porter unless they added that unexpected, zanie, weird twist to it all in a sound that can only be explained as "Differenter".
Lyrically the guys are still evolving. Their flow, and delivery is very unorthodox but quite entertaining. It's what helps them stand out. This blogger is from the south so its very easy to understand what they are saying. But i could understand how some out-of-towners may find it difficult to "get down to were they like to swing" so to speak. Their content and subject matter is exactly what you would expect from a crew of early 20 something Afro-american guys from the south who came from nothing and are on the way to something. They like making money, getting girls, getting wasted, partying, and bragging of their achievements. All at the same time trying to explain that you can be yourself, not be afraid to and still be successful.

All in all I give this mixtape 7/7 Hotwings
